She cares not a whit nor a tittle

that I am left in the middle,

somewhere between hope and a lie,

…hoping for love, but wanting to cry.

Without so much as “by your leave”

she left me here, alone, to grieve

for love that was …and is no more~

and dreams that died with that closing door.

She took her love and went away,

and left me here to rue that day.

Perhaps I’ll love again, … someday,

…but love just seems so far away.

What happens to the dreams that die?

How many tears can one man cry?

I’m like a man too tired to swim,

with only waves to welcome him.

My place of dreams became my cell.

Heaven on earth is now my hell.

My precious dreams are nightmares now.

Life goes on, but I don’t know how.

She took the love she had to give.

With it she took my will to live.

God help me, now. I can’t go on.

I just can’t face another dawn.

This poem is a tragic one. Tony was a young man who could not face life when his dreams and the love of his life were gone.
Suicide is not a rare occurrence in our society,
but it is a tragic one.
I know personally the devastation and very deep hurt
that it inflicts on families and friends.

Please, seek help or offer an understanding ear.
Be a friend to someone who is hurting. You may save a life.
